The name of my documentary is Ricky Hatton:Where Next?. The reason i have chose this name for my documentary is because i feel this would appeal more to my target audience. As many are aware of Ricky Hatton's recent drug scandal i feel the title of the documentary will attract a wider audience as people would want to know where will Ricky Hatton go next? will he make a shock return? or will this drug scandal end his career?
I have planned for my documentary to be aired at prime time on channel 5 at 8pm. Channel 5 has a large youth audience, the age range that i will be targeting my documentary at is 16-39 years-mostly males. Young people who have a interest in boxing and who are currently under professional boxing training. The age range covers young boxers and possibly boxing coaches. Furthermore i would mostly be targeting a British audience as the documentary will cover the story of a British boxer. The genre of the documentary would be celebrity as Ricky Hatton is a boxer who has a global fan base and well known worldwide for his boxing style 'The Hitman'.
I feel the documentary will appeal to a young audience, as the the soundtrack 'eye of the tiger' will immediately draw the attention of the audience as they would be familiar with the soundtrack from the movie Rocky. I have implemented archive footage with the documentary to follow real conventions of a documentary. Moreover i have also included expert interviews within the documentary of a cardiac physiologist at a local gym. When considering how to frame the interview i thought that the cardiac physiologist should stand next to a boxing bag with his boxing gloves on,this would give the audience a sense of realism. I have also decided to interview a amateur boxer and body builder. This interview was shot outside the gym when framing the interview i had to film the scene from the right and the interviewee standing on the left. The subtitles are planned to be placed on the left with the name and title appearing on the left. I am planning on to use red bold colour for my font as the audience would be able to view this more clearly.
